A Deal is one piece of work moving through a workflow. It can link companies, people, meetings, summaries, Tasks, notes, owners, tags, and custom fields.

Create and maintain a Deal

1

Choose the workflow

Open Work and select the workflow that owns the Deal. Its stages and available fields depend on that workflow.
2

Add the key facts

Give the Deal a clear name, stage, value when relevant, expected date, owners, and linked records.
3

Keep the stage honest

Move the Deal when the underlying work reaches the next stage. Use Tasks for actions that are still outstanding.
4

Record the outcome

Mark the Deal won or lost when the outcome is known. Reopen or edit it only when the real status changes.

Read the forecast

The forecast summarizes values from the selected workflow according to its value settings and stage configuration. A stage can contribute a configured amount or probability-based value. Treat the forecast as a view of current Deal data. Missing values, stale stages, and inconsistent expected dates make it less useful. Filter by owner or stage when you need to explain a total.
