# Configure briefings and summaries

> Choose modules, automatic preparation, and follow-up drafts for your workspace.

Workspace administrators configure generation under **Settings > Briefings and summaries**. These settings affect future generation in the active workspace. They do not rewrite existing documents.

## Choose what Floral produces

In the briefing or summary settings, add the modules your team needs and arrange their order. Modules can be automatic, always included, or excluded. Automatic modules depend on the meeting and the evidence available.

Briefing modules can cover company background, finances, relationship history, open Work, attendees, and meeting questions. A section can be absent when Floral has no supporting information. Open Work requires Work access.

For a custom briefing section, give it a title and instructions about what to address. You can add up to 5 custom modules. Titles allow 80 characters and instructions allow 1,000. Keep at least one standard briefing section.

Summary settings control detail and emphasis, such as decisions, next steps, relationship changes, and risks. Automatic detail scales with the meeting. Use a fixed detail setting when your team needs a consistent length.

## Adapt to the meeting

Autopilot chooses relevant modules using the workspace's working style and meeting context. Review the detected style and override it when it does not fit. An older saved manual composition stays manual until you change it.

Autopilot changes the document's composition. The separate automatic-briefing setting controls whether Floral starts preparing calendar meetings without a manual request.

## Generate calendar briefings automatically

Automatic briefings are off by default. Turn them on after connecting a calendar and linking people to the right companies.

Floral checks eligible events daily at 05:00 Copenhagen time and looks ahead 24 hours. It uses connected Google or Microsoft calendars. Forwarded calendar invitations and internal-only events do not qualify.

An event can be skipped if attendee matches do not identify one company, the company has no registration number, the event already has a briefing, or the company received a briefing within the last 7 days. A daily workspace limit also applies. You can still prepare a meeting manually.

## Add a follow-up module

Add the optional follow-up module to summary settings and describe the draft your team needs. For example, ask for an email with the agreed actions and deadlines. Instructions can contain up to 1,000 characters.

The action becomes useful after a summary is approved. It creates a draft from that approved content. Review and copy the result before leaving it because Floral does not retain the draft or send it automatically.

## Check where the result is displayed

Some briefing sections, including custom modules and relationship history, appear on the web but are not yet displayed in mobile briefing views or PDF exports. Use the web briefing when you need the full composition.

For a one-off summary adjustment, use [regeneration before approval](/product/summaries-and-deals). Change workspace modules when the same instruction should apply to future meetings.
