# Use the Floral Assistant

> Ask about workspace data, get product help, and review actions before they run.

The Floral Assistant can answer questions about the active workspace and explain how to use Floral. It uses the same access rules as the person asking.

## Open the Assistant

On the web, open the Assistant from its control in the workspace or from **Support**. On mobile, use the **Assistant** tab. Your conversation history lets you return to earlier threads.

Ask a specific question and include the period, record type, or company when it matters. For example:

* "What did we agree with Northwind at the last meeting?"
* "Show my open Tasks due this week."
* "How do I restore an archived company?"

The Assistant keeps 2 kinds of knowledge separate. Questions about using Floral come from Floral's public documentation. Questions about your organization come from records, meetings, and Sources visible in the active workspace. Floral does not send workspace content to its public documentation search, and it does not use public product guides as evidence about your organization.

## Review actions

In the Floral app, a write action pauses for approval. Read the action name and proposed input before you approve it. Deny the action if the target, value, or workspace is wrong.

The Assistant cannot use approval to bypass your permissions. Feature access, Work access, active membership, and workspace boundaries are checked when each tool runs.

## Administration and logs

A workspace administrator enables or disables Floral Agent under **Settings > Assistants**. The same area provides Slack, MCP connections, access keys, and recent tool-use logs.

Administrators can see tool use across the workspace. Other members see their own tool use. The log records the tool, access type, channel, status, and time. Review the underlying record to confirm the result of a write.

For external clients, see [Connect Floral through MCP](/developers/mcp/overview).
